Meeting with Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ)
On 6 October 2026, PRIMAS Deputy President Mr. C. Krishnan, Vice President Dr. A. Sinnaiah @ Seenu and Committee Member Mr. U.S. Kannan attended a meeting with Jabatan Pelesenan Pembangunan Perniagaan dan Usahawan, Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) to discuss permit requirements for placing tables and chairs along five-foot ways and outside restaurant premises.
The meeting provided an opportunity for PRIMAS to understand the updated permit arrangements and discuss the use of outdoor spaces by restaurant operators.
Discussions focused on more flexible arrangements for placing tables and chairs during both daytime and nighttime, a daily permit fee of RM30, and the introduction of discounted rates for applications involving more than 20 tables. Permit applications are expected to open in November 2026.
