President's Message

Mr. T. Muthusamy

Today I am happy and feel proud for the Malaysian Indian Restaurant Owners Association to own and have the opening ceremony for it's own building by the honorable Dato Sri S.Samyvelu.

To own a building by an association is a great achievement. The membership determine an association's strength. In this case our Primas has a remarkable number of members. Next it's immovable properties. Today Primas has got it's own six story building. With this achievement Primas has advance with another step from the societies' view.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank to all those who have helped and acted to buy this propriety which was once a dream for our members.

Our YAB Deputy Prime Minister has donated RM 500,000.00 for the association's Training School in the dinner organized by us. This is a recognition given by the government to our association. In that dinner Dato Muniandy, Chairman of the organizing committee for the dinner, also collected quite a substantial sum of money as donations.

Our association's Penang branch committee members under the chairmanship of our association's assistant secretary has arranged 'Food Fun Fair' to collect donations.

Our association's many good hearted members have also donated for the fund. Many committee members have also paid RM 5000.00 and and above as donations. Our business partners such as Nestle have also donated for the fund. With all this contributions today Primas has acquired a building worth of RM 3 million. All members should feel proud of this achivement because it is your property and it is going to help you in your future endeavors.

Our next challenge is how this building is going to benefit our members in future. We have to provide training, have seminars for our member's skill development, management development, financial management development and human resource management development for future change.

Our local youth will be trained and equipped with food industry knowledge in our food academy. With this the labour shortage problem would be overcome in the future. Recently our association has been given the license for the distribution of controlled food items by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operation And Consumerism. With this, hopefully the shortage of food item problems would be solved. Soon our association's co-operative will also be recognized by the government. Since we possess our own building the above said activities Since we possess our own building the above said activities can be implemented without any hitch and it will also increase our association's financial strength.

Next in line is the formation of a Foundation through which we can carry out some social activities. Our members have the duty to settle the loan taken to buy and renovate our association's building so that we are loan free.

With the grace of God I sincerely hope that we will achieve whatever we cherish.

Thank you.
Mr. T. Muthusamy
