Throughout the years, PRIMAS addressed the problems encountered by our members on employment of foreign labour issues, liaising with the Ministry of Home Affairs, KDN, Human Resources Ministry, Immigration Department, Foreign Embassies, problem faced on increase of Levy, regularization of work permits, replacement of foreign workers, Halal Certificates, Standardization of Price List Board on selling food items in restaurants, installation of grease-trap in restaurants, foreign workers skill accreditation, increase of threshold for service as collection (restaurant owners chargeable to service tax), local councils licenses, obtain license to purchase and distribute some essential controlled food items to members.
Primary focus of PRIMAS was to bring relief to its members by addressing the acute labour shortage problem that prevails in the Industry. Staunch support of YBhg. Dato Seri S. Samy Vellu, in the cabinet on these issues, brought a new change in the government policy to include workers from India to be allowed to work in our restaurants, marking the first success for PRIMAS effort. Indian restaurant industry experienced a vibrant growth in the next following years.
PRIMAS participated positively in getting the required number of foreign workers for our members. Replacement of one to one worker was approved by the Immigration Department on basis of "Check-Out-Memo" produced.
